Privacy Policy

If you use the contact form, we collect what you type — your name, email, and project details — so we can reply to you. The site runs on Vercel, which logs basic request data (like IP addresses) for security and operations. That's it. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies, no ad networks, no reselling of data.

Everything below is the detailed version. It's also the legally accurate version, which is why it's longer.

This site (burnwire.ai) is operated by Burnwire, a sole proprietorship owned and operated by William Nichols in the State of California, United States. In this Privacy Policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Burnwire; "you" refers to the person visiting the site or submitting information through it.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through burnwire.ai. Information we collect from clients during a paid engagement — under an MSA, SOW, NDA, or similar agreement — is governed by the terms of those contracts, not this policy.

Information you give us. When you submit the contact form or email us, we receive whatever you provide — typically your name, email address, project budget range, project description, and any URLs you share. If you send us an attachment, we receive that too.

Technical information about your visit. When you load a page, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard request data: IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, pages requested, response codes, and timestamps. This is used for security, abuse prevention, and basic operational visibility. We don't join it to your identity.

Email delivery metadata. When we respond to a contact-form submission, our email provider (Resend) records delivery metadata for the outgoing email (whether it was accepted, bounced, etc.) to help us reach you successfully.

We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insights, or any similar product. Our fonts are self-hosted via Next.js, so loading a page does not ping Google.

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiry, evaluate whether an engagement is a fit, and communicate with you about it.
• Operate and secure the site — detect abuse, block bad actors, diagnose performance and error issues.
• Keep internal records of our correspondence and business dealings.
• Comply with legal obligations and defend our legal rights.

We do not use the information to build advertising profiles, train third-party AI models, or sell, rent, or license it to marketers.

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the site. These providers process information on our behalf, under their own agreements and privacy policies:

• Vercel — hosts the site and processes request logs.
• Resend — delivers email sent from the contact form.
• Google Workspace / Gmail — receives and stores the email we send and receive at hello@burnwire.ai and the founder's personal inbox.
• GitHub — stores the source code of the site (not user data).

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe doing so is required by law, necessary to comply with a lawful request (subpoena, court order), or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Burnwire, our clients, or the public.

If Burnwire is ever sold or transferred as part of a business transaction, information may be transferred to the acquiring party, subject to this policy or a successor policy with comparable protections.

Burnwire.ai does not set any cookies used for tracking or advertising. The site may set minimal technical cookies in limited circumstances (for example, session state if we add an authenticated area in the future). If that changes, we'll update this section and, where required, provide a cookie notice or choice mechanism.

Contact-form submissions and email correspondence are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to evaluate, fulfill, and follow up on the inquiry, and afterwards for a reasonable period (typically up to 7 years) for business records, tax, and legal purposes.

Server logs at the hosting layer are retained for a shorter operational window, consistent with our provider's default retention.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see "Your Rights" below.

Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete information we no longer need.
• Stop using your information for a specific purpose.

Email hello@burnwire.ai with the subject line "Privacy Request." We'll verify you're the person the information concerns (usually by confirming you control the email address) and respond within 30 days, or sooner where law requires.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"), gives you specific rights regarding personal information ("PI").

Categories of PI collected in the past 12 months. We collect identifiers (name, email address, IP address), internet or network activity (server request metadata), professional information you volunteer (company, project context), and the contents of electronic communications you send us. We collect these directly from you and from our hosting/email providers.

Business purposes. We use these categories for the purposes described in "How We Use Information" above.

No sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

Your rights. You have the right to (i) know what PI we have collected and how we use it, (ii) request deletion, (iii) request correction, (iv) limit use of sensitive PI (note: we don't collect sensitive PI as defined by CCPA), and (v) opt out of sale or sharing (note: we don't sell or share).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@burnwire.ai with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request; we'll need reasonable proof of their authorization.

The site and our service providers operate primarily in the United States. If you visit from another country, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, our legal basis for processing is typically (a) your consent when you submit the contact form, and (b) our legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional website and responding to inquiries.

Burnwire.ai is intended for business use and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, email hello@burnwire.ai and we'll delete it.

We take reasonable measures to protect information in transit and at rest — HTTPS throughout, reputable providers, access limited to what's needed. No online system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee that unauthorized access will never happen. If a breach affects your information, we'll notify you consistent with applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the current version. For material changes, we'll note the update at the top of this page for a reasonable period.
